Frequently Asked Questions for Patients

Why has my clinic implemented the BnTRx system?

The clinic that treats you with the injectable drugs Botox®, Dysport® or Xeomin® has elected to implement the BnTRx system in order to simplify the various administration processes involved in treatment. This change is designed to make your experience more convenient while also saving administrative time for the clinic.

What is involved in this administration process?

For some time now, you have had to fill out a form every time you arrive for treatment. This is because the injectable drugs mentioned above have to be dispensed by a pharmacy. The clinic sends your form to the pharmacy, and the pharmacy has previously sent you an invoice during the weeks after treatment for the PBS copayment. The invoice you have previously received from the pharmacy has totalled either $31.60 or $7.70. These general or concessional benefit amounts are the same as you would be charged if you presented a prescription to a retail pharmacy and collected the drug. The difference is that for the condition for which you are being treated by injection, these drugs are already in the clinic.

How will BnTRx be better for me?

Once you are registered in your clinic’s secure BnTRx system, you no longer need to fill out a form at every clinic visit, and you no longer need to receive and pay via a physical invoice. Once you are registered and have submitted payment details, your copayment amount (either $31.60 or $7.70) will be deducted post treatment.

How secure is this process and can I be charged without being treated?

The BnTRx system uses the Stripe payment gateway. Reputable and secure, it is the same payment system used by Amazon, Airbnb and Uber. You cannot be charged unless the clinic uploads a prescription for your injectable drug. A prescription is confirmation of treatment as it contains the dose injected.

How will this charge appear in my statement?

The line item on your credit or debit card and bank statement will contain the letters BnTRx and the name of your treating

clinic.

What does BnTRx stand for..?

Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® are all variations of the same class of drug. This drug class is called botulinum toxin. The letters “BnT” are often used in clinical trials to shorten and signify botulinum toxin. The “Rx” component is a derivation of the symbol often seen on prescriptions and on pharmacy establishments.

How do I register and complete my online consent and payment details?

When you visit your clinic for botulinum toxin treatment, they will show you a QR code to scan on your smartphone.  This will open a link in your browser to our web app BnTRx Form.  You can register a secure account with BnTRx only you can access.  Inside, there's an electronic form you can complete your personal and payment details, indicate your consent to be charged the copayment, and select the clinic to connect with and share your details.  You only need to do this once with your clinic, instead of completing a paper form each time you visit for treatment.  After your treatment is completed, the copayment fee is automatically deducted using the payment details you provide.

I moved to a new clinic. Can I transfer my BnTRx Form to the new clinic?

Yes.  The BnTRx Form app stores your personal and payment details and the clinic(s) you've shared these with.

If you already Registered for BnTRx Form, you can Login again.  By default you will see the dashboard confirmation screen from the first time you registered with a clinic.  To register with another clinic, you can return to the form page and select a different clinic from the pick list to Connect to Clinic.  This will send your details to the new clinic.
